Aftercare
We know how hard it can be to take in all of the aftercare information at the end of a long day of tattooing- so here's everything you need to know about the aftercare process.
Once you get home from your appointment, remove the clingfilm and give the tattoo a gentle wash with warm water (and a simple soap, if you have some). Slowly rub your hand across the area whilst wet, and remove any plasma, ink or blood.

Leave the tattoo to air dry. For the first 30 minutes after washing, the tattoo may continue to leak- if this persists, grab a clean paper towel, wet with water and gently remove any fluid.
Leave your tattoo to 'air out' for the remainder of the day (do not use any cream or re-wrap just yet).

At bed time (on the first night only), clean the area with warm soapy water, air dry and apply clingfilm to the tattooed area (unless told otherwise). This will prevent any leaking onto your bed- please note, even when wrapping your tattoo at night, sometimes it can still leak; so if you're worried about ruining your bedding, maybe place a towel underneath you.

When you wake up, the tattoo will have leaked in the night. Remove the clingfilm and jump in the shower to rinse off any goo.
Keep the tattoo clean, dry and un-moisturised for the first 24 hours. Once this time has passed, begin using your preferred aftercare ointment (we recommend Skin Jungle) 2-3 time per day. Wash your hands before using your cream! This keeps everything more hygienic. You will only need a pea sized amount of your aftercare, so please don't over-do it!

Continue to apply your aftercare cream until the tattoo begins to flake (this can look a bit like sunburn). Once this process has started, you could switch to a daily moisturiser, although this isn't essential.

After a few weeks, the flaking will stop and your tattoo should be healed.

What to avoid during the healing process:
- Bathing the area / Fully submerging for prolonged periods.
- Pets touching the area.
- Please put clean bedding on.
- Avoid bad personal hygiene. If you don't wash regularly, you are prone to infection.

Sometimes, unforeseen reactions may occur (infections, allergic reactions etc.) which can be no ones fault. We take a lot of pride in keeping our workspace sanitary and ensure all of our equipment is clean before use. It's a team effort; we'll provide a clean environment, you must keep it clean afterwards.
Although we try and walk you through every step of this aftercare, we cannot take responsibility for your new tattoo once you've left the studio. If you do unfortunately get an infection in the area, you can contact your artist about this, and please go to your doctors to receive antibiotics. Infections can seem really daunting but they do happen, but a round of antibiotics will fix this; you may require touch ups if this happens.
If you have any issues, questions or concerns, please contact us. We will try our best to answer the phone during work hours, if not, drop us an email or fill our our contact form.
